Teen Programs & Events

The following is an overview of our regular programs and may be subject to change. Read our monthly newsletters or pick up a printed calendar (available at the library) for up-to-date information each month.

Teen Poetry Contest

April is National Poetry Month, and the Peabody Public Library is holding their third annual teen poetry contest. This contest is open for students in 6th to 12th grade, and entries will be accepted from April 1st to 30th. Please note: only one entry will be accepted per student and entries must be accompanied by a release form. Entries may be dropped off at the library, or scanned and submitted by email to Complete rules available here. Have fun writing!

Battle of the Books

Battle of the Books

“Battle of the Books” is an academic competition in which teams are questioned on their knowledge of 6 books, provided by the Peabody Public Library. This competition is open to all Whitley county students in grades 3rd-5th, 6th-8th and 9th-12th. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards are given in each grade group. Our 2016 competition is over, but you can check back here or watch our newsletters and calendars for information about next year's contest.

Monthly Events

YA Pin Party

1st Thursday of the month from 5 - 7 PM. Join us for fun Pinterest projects.

Craft Saturday

2nd Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM. Come make an awesome craft to take home and enjoy. Bring a friend. Free craft.

Food, Facts & Fun

2nd Monday at 4 PM. Teens learn fun facts about different countries. Taste a few traditional dishes and learn a few words!

Cre8tive Minds

3rd Tuesday at 4:30 PM. Each month is a different craft project (4th grade and up).
