Our Mission

The Mission of the Friends of the Peabody Public Library is to support the library as it strives to encourage literacy, lifelong learning, and the love of reading throughout our diverse community.  We seek to enhance the library resources, increase the community's access to information and knowledge, and provide for a vibrant cultural gathering place.

If you have any questions about the Friends of the Library or would like to make general comments or suggestions, you may call the Friends of the Library President, Donna Harl at (260)  244-7944 , or contact Vice President, Sandy Slone, at (260) 229-2008 or by email at sandraslone44@gmail.com.

What we do

The Friends of the Library have monthly meetings, participate in the annual Salute to Veterans, have books sales and present interesting speakers for the Library.  In the past the FOL have purchased the flag pole, digital camera, gaming hardware, picnic tables, book carts, Evergreen Indiana T-shirts, book bags, meeting room tables and financially support the Summer Reading Program.

Book Sales

The Friends of the Library now have dedicated shelving for their Book Sale books. This can be found in the storage area behind the Auditorium; however, books are still only sold during book sales, so watch library calendars and announcements for upcoming sales.

Cookbooks

The staff and Friends of the Library have put together a cookbook with some of our very favorite recipes! The cost of this cookbook is $5 each, and copies may be purchased at the Checkout desk.

How you can help

Donate books (adults and children), DVDs, or CDs to the Friends Annual Book Sales - just drop them off at the Peabody Public Library any time during the year.

You can also attend one of our monthly meetings (held the 4th Wednesday of every month in Community Room A).
